লেখক, মো. বিল্লাল হোসেন: গতকাল, ৩১ শে জুলাই ২০২৬ তারিখে তসলিমা নাসরিন পশ্চিম বাংলায় এসেছে; উনিশ বছর পর। ২০০৭ সালে তাকে পশ্চিম বাংলা থেকে তৎকালীন সরকার কর্তৃক বিতারিত করা হয় তার একটা বই ‘দ্বিখণ্ডিত’ কে কেন্দ্র করে বেশ উত্তেজনার সৃষ্টি হয় এবং এরই বর্ধিত রূপ হিসেবে তাকে বিতারিত করেন বুদ্ধদেব ভট্টাচার্যের বামফ্রন্ট সরকার। ঘটনাক্রমে ৩১ জুলাই ২০২০ সালে আমি তসলিমা নাসরিনকে নিয়ে একটা কমেন্টে বলার চেষ্টা করেছিলাম তসলিমা কোন নাস্তিক তথা দাবিকৃত প্রগতিশীল নয়। সে হিন্দুধর্মের অনুসারী একজন মানুষ। তসলিমার দ্বিখণ্ডিত বইটা ২০০৩ সালে বাংলাদেশে ‘ক’ নামে প্রকাশিত হওয়ার পরে এখানে ধর্মীয় বিদ্বেষমূলক মন্তব্য এবং বিভিন্ন গুণীজনকে ব্যক্তিজীবন নিয়ে অপমানজনক আলোচনা আনার জন্য বাংলাদেশে বইটি নিষিদ্ধ হয় এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গে বইটি ক নামে প্রকাশ করতে প্রকাশকের আপত্তির কারণে বইটির নাম দ্বিখণ্ডিত রাখা হলেও একবছর দশ মাসের মাথায় বামফ্রন্ট সরকার বইটি নিষিদ্ধ করে দেন। ২০০৬ সালে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ হাইকোর্ট বইটিকে আবার প্রকাশ করার অনুমতি দিলে জনগণের মধ্যে আবার উত্তেজনা ও আইনশৃংখলা পরিস্থিতির অবনতি ঘটার আসঙ্কা দেখা দেয় এবং এরই পরিপেক্ষিতে তসলিমাকে ২০০৭ সালে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ থেকে বিতারিত করেন তৎকালীন বুদ্ধদেব ভট্টাচার্যের সরকার। এরপর ২০১১ সালে ক্ষমতায় আসেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এর সেকুলার সরকার তারা ক্ষমতায় থাককালীন সময়ে তসলিমাকে পশ্চিম বাংলায় আসার অনুমতি দেয় নাই। ২০২৬ সালে মৌলবাদী বিজেপি ক্ষমতায় আসার পর তসলিমাকে তারা পশ্চিম বাংলায় আমন্ত্রণ করেন এবং তসলিমা সানন্দে এসেছে কলকাতায়। মৌলবাদী বিজেপি তাকে সম্মাননা দিবেন এবং তসলিমা সেটা গ্রহণ করবে। ১৯৯৪ সালে তসলিমাকে বাংলাদেশ থেকেও বিতারিত করা হয়েছিল তার দেশ বিরোধী উপন্যাস লজ্জা লেখার জন্য। লজ্জা উপন্যাসটা সে লিখেছে বিজেপির কাছ থেকে ৪৫ লক্ষ টাকার বিনিময়ে এই অভিযোগ ছিল তার বিরুদ্ধে। এবার বিজেপি সরকারের আমলে পশ্চিম বাংলায় এসে তসলিমার উপর আরোপিত অভিযোগ প্রমাণ হলো। লজ্জা উপন্যাসে তসলিমা যে সকল ন্যারেটিভ বর্ণনা করতে চেয়েছে সবই কাল্পনিক। ক্যারেক্টরের সাথে মিল না থাকুক প্লটের সাথে মিলে এমন কোন ঘটনার পত্রিকার কাটিং থাকলে তসলিমার প্রকাশ করা উচিত কিংবা কোন ব্যক্তির সাক্ষী অথবা ভিক্টিমের জবানবন্দি তার প্রকাশ করা উচিত। কিন্তু সে পারে নাই। লজ্জা উপন্যাসে সে সুরঞ্জন চরিত্রটাকে আনছে যেইভাবে সেটা দিয়ে ভারতে হিন্দুত্ববাদকে উস্কে দেওয়া ছাড়াও আরো একটা বেপার এখানে হাজির ছিল; তাহলো ১৯৯২ সালে বাবরি মসজিদ ভাঙার পক্ষে মৌন ন্যায্যতা উৎপাদন করা। এবং পরবর্তীতে ভারতে উগ্র হিন্দুত্ববাদকে উস্কে দিতে এই বইটাকে বিজেপি আফিম হিসেবে প্রচার করেছে। ৯৩ সালে প্রকাশ হওয়ার পর বইটা বাংলাদেশে ব্যান হলেও ১৯৯৪ সালে লজ্জা বইটার প্রথম অনুবাদ হয় দিল্লিতে টুটুল ভট্টের হাতে। এই লোকের বাড়ি গুজরাটে এবং মাত্র ৮ বছরের মাথায় ২০০২ সালে গুজরাটে গণহত্যার মাধ্যমে হাজার হাজার সংখ্যালঘুকে হত্যা করে হিন্দুত্ববাদী সরকারের মদতে উগ্র হিন্দুত্ববাদীরা। এই হত্যাকাণ্ডের মৌণ জাস্টিফিকেশানের জন্য ২০০৩ সালে তসলিমা তার অটোবায়োগ্রাফি দ্বিখণ্ডিত বইটা প্রকাশ করে, এখানে মূলত তার ১৯৮৮ – ১৯৯৩ পর্যন্ত জীবনীকর্ম রচনা করার মাধ্যমে সে মুসলিমদের ধর্মীয় অনুভূতিকে প্রতিক্রিয়াশীল বুঝাতে চেয়েছে একই সাথে তার দ্বিতীয় এবং তৃতীয় স্বামী সহ তার পরক্রিয়া-আপনক্রিয়া প্রেমিকদের চরিত্রে কালিমা লেপন করতে সজাগ প্রচেষ্টা করেছেন তার বাবা নাইমুল ইসলাম খানের সাথে তার অবাধ মেলামেশা দেখে তাকে বেশ্যা বলেছিলেন এইসব বিষয় তুলে এনেছেন। আমার লজ্জা বইটার বাংলা, ইংরেজি কপি সহ বইটার উপর একাধিক রিসার্চ পেপার পড়ার সুযোগ হয়েছে। ইংরেজি কপিটা পড়লে বুঝতে পারবেন টুটুল বাবু খুবই সহজ ও বোধগম্য ইংরেজি ভাষায় বইটা অনুবাদ করেছেন। সাহিত্যের রসবোধ বা ভাষার শৈলী ও গাম্ভীর্যতা তিনি এখানে দেখান নাই বরং তিনি বইটাকে একটা পলিটিক্যাল হাতিয়ার হিসেবে ব্যবহার করতে চেয়েছেন বলেই তিনি ক্লাস ৭/৮ এর বাচ্চারাও যেনো বুঝে ভারতীয় সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতি বিদ্বেষ পোষণ করে হিন্দুত্ববাদের প্রতি ঝুঁকে যায় সেটার জন্যই করেছেন। উত্তর প্রদেশের একজন গবেষক, কানওয়ারপাল সিং, ২০১৩ সালে তসলিমার লজ্জার ইংরেজি অনুবাদ সেইম এর উপর একটা রিসার্চ পেপার প্রকাশ করেন এবং সেখানে তিনি ঐসকল লাইন গুলোই কোড করেছেন যেখানে বলা হয়েছে বাংলাদেশে হিন্দুদের উপর হেন নিপিড়ন নাই হয় না! এবং নিজস্ব মতামত যা দিয়েছেন তিনি তাতে উগ্রবাদকে উষ্কে দেওয়া ছাড়া আর কিছু না। তার রিসার্চ পেপারে উল্লেখ করা সেইম উপন্যাসের কয়েকটা আর্টিকেল নিচে উল্লেখ করে দিচ্ছি পাঠকদের বুঝার সুবিধার্থে,
When they begged for water, the sadistic guards would laugh at him. One
day….they took off his blindfold and forced him to watch them urinate into a jug.
When the jug was put to Sudhamoy’s lips, he had turned his head away in disgust,
but one of them had forced his mouth open while the other poured the contents of
the jug in…. salty liquid had tricked down his throat. Sudhamoy had felt at the
time that he would rather have drunk poison! (65)

In Dhaka, Sudhamoy had applied for a senior government job, one that would be
a promotion on the official position he had in Mymensingh….. But he had
discovered that officers junior to him had got their promotion. In his very
presence, Sudhamoy had seen his file being slipped under those of Dr.
Karimuddin and Dr. Yaqub Molla… he had finally retired as an Assistant
Professor… Sudhamoy realized that he was not made Associate Professor simply
because he was a Hindu called Sudhamoy Dutta. Had he been Muhammad Ali or
Salimullah Chowdhury there would hardly have been any obstacles in his way.

It is a fact that there are no Hindus of the rank of Brigadier or Major General. Out
of seventy colonels there is only one Hindu, there are eight lieutenant colonels out
of 450, forty majors out of 1000, eight captains out of 1300, three second
lieutenants out of 900, only five hundred sipahis out of 80,000. And there are only
300 Hindus out of 40,000 BDRs. There is only one Joint Secretary out of a
hundred and thirty-four. (137)

Suranjan felt isolation and the very first time he thought himself to be a Hindu not a Human being.
His Muslim classmates were taking sadistic pleasure by demolishing his religion which worships
the cow. He wept bitterly and told his father who knew the reality of his minority status and rights
very well. He is an atheist, which is a very common fashion with Hindu Communist to boost their
intellectualism and liberal attitude. In order to stay in Bangladesh, he always made a compromise
with the situation. Now he advises his son not to weep and pretends that beef is a delicacy. He
even encourages his family members to eat beef: “Kironmoyee had cooked the beef after a good
deal of cajoling on Sudhamoy’s part who had explained to his wife, at great length the futility and
illogicality of observing such customs.” (64)

Manju Rani Seal, a student in the ninth standard…..was abducted at 8 p.m., on the
evening of 4 December 1988 by Abdur Rahim and his goons….there is no trace
of Manju Rani…..In Parkumaria village of Tala sub district in Satkhira,
Rabindranath Ghosh’s young daughter, Chanda, a third standard student… her
schoolteacher abducted her with the help of some hooligans. They took the
terrified little girl to garden nearby and raped her….a case was filed but no one
was arrested. (48-49)
উপরের লেখাগুলো দিয়ে প্রাইমারিলী মৌলবাদী হিন্দুত্ববাদকে উষ্কে দিচ্ছে তসলিমার বরাত দিয়ে এরপর আবার কানওয়ারপাল সিং নিজের মতামতে বুঝাতে চাচ্ছেন ভারতে হিন্দুত্ববাদের বিকল্প নাই। উনার দুই একটা বক্তব্যের উদ্বৃতি নিচে তুলে দিচ্ছি,
The novel shows that in Bangladesh Islam was synonymous of human being. Only Muslims
were considered as the only human being in the country. They were free to pray in the mosque, to
do what they want for their religion, to wear Burkha, to have a beard, to wear a round cap on their
head, to follow the rituals of their religion. But Hindu are like their slaves and every time they
have to hide their identity. They cannot follow any religious rituals and use anything signifying
their religion. Being afraid of Muslims, Sudhamoy asked his wife to hide their identity as Hindu.

The novelist tries to bring home the fact that biased amendment in the constitution provided
the hidden authority to the fanatic Muslims to catch the Hindus and kill them or convert them to
Islam. The narrative goes: “Let us catch a Hindu or two, eat them in the morning and evening too…”
(17) Hindus became the second class citizens or have no citizenship except to vote the Muslims in
order to make them their masters who in return did not provide them any facility to have a peaceful
life and equality in the society. Suranjan told his father that being the members of the second class
Hindu minority, it was foolish to try and see themselves as equal to the Muslims who were the first
class citizens of this country. At every level, they were harassed and haunted. Their system blindly
favoured the Muslims and Islamic communalism. It was almost impossible for the Hindus to get jobs
or admissions in educational institutions. If they were appointed, they were harassed at all levels and
then their due promotions were also denied to them.
এই যে তসলিমার বরারত দিয়ে বিজেপি যে ইসলামোফোবিয়ার রাজনীতি ভারতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছে এইগুলা তারই প্রমাণ।
আরো ভয়ংকর দুই একটা উদ্বৃতি দিচ্ছি কিভাবে ভারতে মাইনরিটি মুসলিমদের নির্যাতন করতে হবে তা এই উপন্যাসে শিখিয়ে দিচ্ছে তসলিমা সুরঞ্জনকে দিয়ে এবং গুজরাট গণহত্যায় সেইভাবেই নিপিড়ন তার করেছে এবং এখনো বিজেপি মাইনরিটি মুসলিম নিপিড়নের সেই পথগুলোই অবলম্বনের কথা বলে যাচ্ছে তাদের নেতা কর্মীদের।
“Suranjan asked, ‘Debabrata, can’t we burn a mosque?’
‘Mosque? Are you crazy?’
‘Come, let’s go and set the Tara masjid on fire tonight!’
…. ‘There are twenty million Hindus in this country. If we had wanted to, we
could even have burnt up Baitul Mokarram !’
‘… yes, I used to call myself a human being, and I believed in humanism. But
these Muslims did not let me stay human. They made me a Hindu’. ….. ‘Even if
we don’t gain anything. We can at least prove that we too can destroy. Shouldn’t
we make it known that we too are capable of being angry? …the Babri Masjid
was four hundred and fifty years old, but Chaitanyadeb’s house was five hundred
year old monuments in this country too? I feel like tearing down the Sobhanbagh
mosque. The mosque as Gulshan Part one was constructed by the Saudi Arabians.
Why don’t we build a temple?’ (163)

He threw the girl on the floor and stripped her of all he clothes. Suranjan took
quick deep breath, as he dug his nails into the girl’s flesh. He bit her breasts, one
part of his mind understanding that what he was doing was certainly not love.
Relentlessly he pulled her hair; bit her on the cheek, neck and breasts. He
scratched her waist, her stomach, her buttocks and her thighs with his sharp
nails….the girl moaned with pain, screaming occasionally, ‘O my God! I am
dying of pain…Suranjan laughed with savage satisfaction. (200-201)

এই নগ্নভাবে মিথ্যা বয়ান তসলিমার বরাত দিয়ে প্রচারের ফলে উত্তর প্রদেশেও সফল ভাবে উগ্র হিন্দুত্ববাদের উদ্ভব ঘটানো গেছে। এবং সরকার গঠন করেছে মৌলবাদী বুলডোজার ইয়োগি খ্যাত আদিত্য নাথ। বাংলাদেশে হিন্দু নিপিড়নের মিথ্যা গল্প তৈরি করতে পারলে তা ক্যাশ করে বিজেপি ভারতে এন্টিমুসলিম সেন্টিমেন্ট তৈরি করতে পারে এবং সেই সেন্টিমেন্ট পুঁজি করে তারা সেখানে নৈরাজ্য চালাচ্ছে। আর এই মিথ্যা প্রোপাগাণ্ডার জন্য বিজেপি ৪৫ লক্ষ টাকায় ক্রয় করেছে তসলমা নাসরিনকে বলে যে অভিযোগ ছিল, সেটা তসলিমার ২৬ -এ পশ্চিম বাংলায় আসার মাধ্যমে প্রমাণিত হয়ে গেল।
